Operation School Bell (Assistance League of Amador Valley)
To provide back to school clothing for more than 150 needy children in Livermore. All funds go to clothing sold at discount by local merchants; children shop with volunteers.
Mariachi Club at Junction Avenue School
The emphasis is to get kids playing music after school and the costumes would add to the uniform effect. This would be a one-time help to get the project off the ground. They had a fundraiser the next night, which was very successful. The advisor of the project is the new school board member.
Community Children’s Health Access (LVJUSD)
For medical, dental and eye screenings and treatment for needy children $5,000 - $10,000 would provide for an estimated 20 medical visits, 10 optometric visits as well as bus passes and clothing where needed. (The 2010 grant of $5,000 lasted through 2011 because some provided service pro bono rather than accept a Foundation payment!)
Junction Avenue Futsal. Prior recipient.
For futsal court completion (fence-$9,400, goals-$2,500, bleachers-$4,200). Approx 150 children served. Payment would be made to the school district.
