Special Projects
Vineyard Resource Center
In 2022, the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore committed $50,000 to the Vineyard 2.0 Navigation Center in Downtown Livermore. RFL’s contribution will provide interior amenities including a laundry room, showers, mailboxes, and community room furnishings.
This generous project was made in memory of Dr. Martin Plone, in honor of his commitment to the Livermore community and in gratitude for his bequest to the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore.
Support During Covid to Local Schools and Agencies
During 2020-21, the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore provided $30,000 to enable the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District to purchase Chromebooks for students who needed them for distance learning during Covid.
$5,000 one-time grants were given to Tri-Valley Haven for a food distribution event during the holiday season, and to Axis Community Health for Covid-19 community healthcare response.
Partnering with LVEF to Encourage Innovation in Education
In partnership with the Livermore Valley Education Foundation (LVEF), the RFL sponsored two grants for projects that “challenge the ordinary and are innovative in scope and application.”
Grants totaling $3,604 ($1802 from RFL) were awarded for: Multisensory teaching in first-grade classes at Rancho Las Positas Elementary and Development of a curriculum for use on smartphone apps for Livermore High School physics classes.
The RFL and LVEF continue to collaborate to provide grants to teachers and school programs that serve students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.
Rotary Bandstand in Carnegie Park
In 2016, the RFL constructed the bandstand in Carnegie Park that provides the stage for outdoor concerts during Farmers Markets, community festivals, and the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley’s Annual Chili Cook Off.

Carnegie Park Landscaping
Following the completion of the Rotary Bandstand and again in 2022, the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore funded landscape and hardscape improvements in Carnegie Park. Located in the heart of Downtown Livermore, Carnegie Park is always open and always welcoming to Livermore residents and their neighbors.
Axis Community Mobile Health Van
The Rotarian Foundation of Livermore raised funds for and purchased a mobile health unit in 2007 that was operated by Stanford Valley Care until 2015, and then by Axis Community Health for many years. This van served members of the community whose income and transportation needs made it challenging or impossible to seek healthcare elsewhere.
